Here is Dinwoody Creek flowing down into Floyd Wilson meadows. I am trying to capture the movement of the water. I am using brush strokes that are fully loaded. If you have other colors in the brush, they will come out. That is how I achieved the vibrant color and the sense of movement. And yet the colors are accurate; they are based off of a pastel study. You could fuss with it more, but when you fuss too much you lose the immediacy and the vibrancy. It's a balance - you have to be careful not to overwork it in pursuit of some minor goal.
